There is something so cleansing
about a spring rain. The wet petals just glisten in the morning light.
All the flowers in my garden looked brand new this morning! And I thought it’s really spring now, but my closet is still crowded with blacks and greys and browns. It’s time to throw off the dark hues of winter for a fresh start!
The Panetone
Color Report for Spring, 2010 is entitled, “Splashes
of Sunshine”. Tomato red is one of the favorite colors of spring, in the same saturated shade of my camelias. There's also a fabulous yellow, named "aurora." You can find the entire color report here:

Browsing through the fabulous drawings in the color report inspired me to think of my spring/summer knitting in terms of color. If I’m going to be spending hours knitting garments for myself, they had better brighten up my dreary wardrobe! So I scrolled through the pictures, looking for the color combinations that went best with the things I already have, and that most speak to my personality. I ended up selecting three designer-looks for my spring color palette.
You don't have to be a ballgown kind of girl to love this dramatic color combination!
2. Victoria Bartlett: Vermillion, coral and lilac
I'm not sure I love the garment, but these warm tones bring the sunshine indoors!
3. Adrienne Vittadini: Aquarium blue and deep navy
This makes me feel like strolling barefoot on the sand, on some fabulous beach!
My plan is to print these drawings out and hanging them in my closet as an
inspiration. I want to knit a sweater to match each of these color combinations by the time summer rolls around.

where to start first?
This cardigan of Kim Hargreaves, Blossom, is one of the most beautiful button-up sweaters I’ve seen for a long time. As an added bonus, it qualifies for the Sexy Knitter’s Group cardigan KAL!
