Overall, I’m happy with
the way it turned out. I used Mosaic #20: “Cable” from Barbara Walker’s Mosaic Book to create the pattern for
the sleeves and empire waist design. And what could be more scrumptious than
Rowan’s 4-ply soft for the yarn? Of course, that yarn is so fine, that knitting
the sweater on size 3 needles seemed to take forever! But I was determined to
knit something inspired by the Panetone Winter Color
report illustration:
And I happened to have just the right black and red in super fine yarn in my stash! After all the grinding away at the fine knitting, I do feel the sweater was faithful to my Panetone color inspiration:
I just wish the fit were a bit more flattering. It is very much a busty silhouette that is created by the empire waist! I don’t think I’ll be wearing this sweater to work any time soon, but for a date night with my husband, it is probably just right.
